1. Overview

BeatVault ("we," "us," "our," or "Company") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our iOS and Android mobile application (the "App") handles information in connection with your use of the BeatVault Ethereum inheritance vault service.

BeatVault is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not require user registration, do not collect personal information, and do not maintain centralized databases of user data.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information We Do NOT Collect

• Personal identification information (names, email addresses, phone numbers)
• User account information or credentials
• Precise geolocation data
• Cookies or tracking identifiers
• Analytics or usage data
• Device identifiers beyond what is necessary for WalletConnect

2.2 Information the App Accesses

• Ethereum Wallet Address: Obtained from WalletConnect sessions. This is the public address you authorize the App to connect with and is necessary to interact with the Ethereum blockchain.
• On-Chain Transaction Data: Public blockchain data queried from the Ethereum network related to your vault and inherited assets.
• Device Preferences: Vault names, configuration settings, and user preferences are stored locally on your device using secure local storage mechanisms (SharedPreferences on Android with encryption, SecureStorage on iOS).

2.3 Subscription Information

Subscription and billing information is handled directly by Apple App Store or Google Play Store. BeatVault does not collect, store, or process payment information. Billing data is managed entirely by the respective app platform providers.

3. How We Use Information

The limited information accessed by BeatVault is used exclusively to:

• Enable you to connect your Ethereum wallet to the App via WalletConnect
• Display your vault and inherited asset information from the Ethereum blockchain
• Store your vault configuration and preferences locally on your device
• Facilitate transactions and interactions with the Ethereum blockchain

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 WalletConnect

BeatVault uses WalletConnect to securely connect to your Ethereum wallet. When you authorize a WalletConnect session:

• Your wallet address is transmitted to the WalletConnect relay servers to establish the connection
• WalletConnect does not store or retain your wallet address beyond the active session
• Refer to WalletConnect's privacy policy at walletconnect.com/privacy for their data practices

4.2 Ethereum Blockchain & Alchemy RPC

BeatVault communicates with the Ethereum blockchain through a custom RPC proxy (rpc.beatvault.io powered by Alchemy). This infrastructure:

• Relays your read and write requests to the Ethereum network
• Does not store or retain wallet addresses or personal information
• Processes only necessary blockchain data queries
• Your IP address may be visible to the proxy service for legitimate technical operations

4.3 Etherscan API (via proxy)

BeatVault uses Etherscan API through a proxy to retrieve publicly available blockchain data:

• This is used to display transaction history and account information
• All data queried is publicly available on the Ethereum blockchain
• No personal information is transmitted to Etherscan

4.4 App Store Providers

Your use of the App through Apple App Store or Google Play is governed by their respective privacy policies:

5. Blockchain & Public Data

5.1 Public Nature of Blockchain

Ethereum wallet addresses and all transactions are inherently public and immutable on the blockchain. By using BeatVault, you acknowledge that:

• Your wallet address is visible on the public Ethereum blockchain
• Your vault creation, funding, and transaction history are publicly viewable
• This transparency is a fundamental feature of blockchain technology, not a privacy breach

5.2 No Additional Exposure

BeatVault does NOT transmit your wallet address to any centralized server or third-party service except:

• The Ethereum blockchain itself (required for vault operation)
• WalletConnect relay servers (required for wallet connection)
• Our RPC proxy infrastructure (required for blockchain interaction)

6. Data Security

6.1 Local Storage Protection

All vault preferences and configuration stored on your device are encrypted using platform-specific secure storage:

• iOS: SecureStorage with iOS Keychain encryption
• Android: Encrypted SharedPreferences using Android Security Library

6.2 Network Security

All communication with external services uses industry-standard HTTPS encryption with TLS 1.2 or higher.

6.3 What You Can Do

To maintain security of your vault:

• Keep your mobile device and BeatVault app updated
• Use strong wallet passwords and recovery phrases
• Store your recovery phrase securely offline
• Do not share your WalletConnect URIs or session details

7. GDPR Rights (EU Residents)

If you are a resident of the European Union, the United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions with similar data protection laws, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

7.1 Right to Access

You have the right to request what personal data we hold about you. Given that BeatVault does not collect personal information, any such request will confirm that we have no personal data associated with you.

7.2 Right to Erasure ("Right to Be Forgotten")

Since BeatVault does not maintain centralized records of personal data, there is no personal information for us to erase. Deleting the App from your device will remove all locally stored preferences.

7.3 Right to Data Portability

All your vault configuration and settings are stored locally on your device. You can export this information by backing up your device or accessing it directly through the App.

7.4 Right to Restrict Processing

You can disable App features or disconnect your wallet at any time. The App will not process any data once disconnected.

7.5 Withdrawing Consent

You can stop using BeatVault at any time. No ongoing data processing occurs after you disconnect and uninstall the App.

8. CCPA Rights (California Residents)

If you are a resident of California, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

8.1 Right to Know

You have the right to know what categories of personal information are collected. BeatVault does not collect personal information as defined by CCPA, only blockchain-based wallet addresses and locally stored preferences.

8.2 Right to Delete

You have the right to delete personal information. All locally stored data can be deleted by uninstalling the App from your device.

8.3 Right to Opt-Out

BeatVault does not engage in "sales" of personal information or targeted advertising. There is nothing to opt out of.

8.4 Right to Non-Discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.

9. Data Retention

9.1 Local Device Storage

Vault preferences and configuration remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App. You maintain full control over this data.

9.2 Blockchain Data

Transaction and vault data on the Ethereum blockchain is permanent and immutable by design. BeatVault does not delete or modify blockchain records.

9.3 Third-Party Services

WalletConnect, Alchemy RPC, and Etherscan retain data according to their respective privacy policies. Refer to their documentation for specific retention periods.
