1. Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to BeatVault (beatvault.io), an iOS and Android application that enables users to create and manage Ethereum smart contract vaults for inheritance purposes.
By downloading, installing, or using the BeatVault application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the application.
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of BeatVault after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
2. Eligibility
By using BeatVault, you represent and warrant that:
- You are at least 18 years of age
- You have the legal authority to enter into these terms
- You comply with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction, including those relating to cryptocurrency and digital assets
- Your use of BeatVault is not prohibited by sanctions or export control laws of any applicable jurisdiction
If you do not meet these requirements, you may not use BeatVault.
3. Service Description
BeatVault provides a platform for creating and managing Ethereum smart contract-based inheritance vaults. The app allows you to:
- Create smart contract vaults with configurable inactivity periods
- Designate beneficiaries to receive distributed assets
- Monitor vault status and manage settings
- Access your vault through an intuitive mobile interface
How It Works
You maintain full control and custody of all funds in your vaults through your own Ethereum wallet. BeatVault does not hold, custodize, or have access to your private keys or assets. All vault management and asset distribution occurs directly through smart contracts executed on the Ethereum blockchain.
4. Smart Contract Details
Open Source and Auditing
The BeatVault smart contracts are open source and have undergone professional security audits. However, no security audit provides absolute guarantees against all potential vulnerabilities or risks.
User Responsibility
You are solely responsible for:
- Understanding how smart contracts work
- Verifying the contract addresses and functionality before depositing assets
- Maintaining secure backups of your wallet private keys and recovery phrases
- Understanding the inactivity period and beneficiary distribution logic
No Guarantees
Smart contracts are experimental technology. Despite professional audits and testing, smart contracts may contain bugs, vulnerabilities, or unintended behavior. We provide the contracts as-is with no warranty of fitness for any particular purpose.
5. Subscription and Pricing
BeatVault offers subscription plans via Apple App Store and Google Play Store in-app purchases. Pricing varies by plan and may include:
| Plan Type | Price Range | Renewal |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly Plans | $0.36 - $0.49 USD | Monthly |
Subscription Terms
- Subscriptions are billed through your device's app store (Apple or Google)
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
- Cancellation must be completed through your app store account settings
- Refunds for subscription fees are subject to your app store's refund policy, not BeatVault's policy
- Prices are subject to change with 30 days' notice
Gas Fees
In addition to subscription fees, users must pay Ethereum network gas fees for all smart contract transactions (vault creation, beneficiary updates, asset distribution). Gas fees are:
- Determined by the Ethereum network, not by BeatVault
- Variable and subject to network congestion
- Deducted directly from your wallet by the network
- Non-refundable even if a transaction fails
6. Blockchain and Smart Contract Risks
Irreversible Transactions
All transactions on the Ethereum blockchain are permanent and irreversible. Once a transaction is confirmed, it cannot be undone, reversed, or cancelled. This includes vault creation, beneficiary changes, and asset distribution.
Smart Contract Risk
Smart contracts may contain bugs, vulnerabilities, or logic errors that could result in unintended behavior, including:
- Incorrect asset distribution
- Funds becoming permanently inaccessible
- Execution of unintended contract logic
- Exploitation by malicious actors
Blockchain Finality Risk
The Ethereum network could experience:
- Network failures or interruptions
- Chain reorganizations or consensus changes
- Unexpected protocol modifications
Gas Fee Volatility
Ethereum network gas fees fluctuate dramatically based on network demand. Your transaction may become expensive or uneconomical during periods of high congestion.
Token and Asset Compatibility
Not all Ethereum tokens (ERC-20 or otherwise) are compatible with BeatVault smart contracts. Some tokens may:
- Behave unexpectedly in smart contracts
- Implement custom functions that conflict with vault logic
- Become worthless or abandoned
Wallet and Private Key Risk
If you lose access to your wallet's private keys or recovery phrase, your funds will be permanently inaccessible. BeatVault cannot recover lost keys or funds.
Regulatory Risk
Cryptocurrency regulation is evolving globally. Changes in law or regulation could affect the use, value, or legality of your assets or BeatVault's operation in your jurisdiction.
Market and Valuation Risk
Cryptocurrency values are highly volatile and speculative. Assets held in vaults may increase or decrease dramatically in value.
7. No Financial or Tax Advice
BeatVault provides a technical service only. We do not provide financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, or legal guidance. We strongly recommend consulting with qualified professionals including:
- A financial advisor
- A tax professional
- An attorney familiar with cryptocurrency law in your jurisdiction
You are solely responsible for understanding the tax implications of your cryptocurrency holdings and transactions.
8. User Conduct

- Engage in illegal activities or violate any applicable laws

9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BeatVault and its owners, managers, developers, and employees are not responsible for:
Loss of Funds
- Loss of cryptocurrency or other assets due to smart contract bugs, vulnerabilities, or unintended behavior
- Loss of funds due to user error, including sending funds to incorrect addresses or misconfiguring vaults
- Loss of funds due to compromised private keys or wallet security breaches
- Loss of funds due to Ethereum network failures, forks, or consensus changes
Service Disruptions
- Temporary or permanent unavailability of the BeatVault application
- Inability to access your vault due to app crashes, bugs, or server issues
- Delays in asset distribution or execution of smart contracts
Indirect Damages
In no event shall BeatVault be liable for:
- Lost profits or lost revenue
- Lost data or documentation
- Business interruption
- Consequential, incidental, special, or punitive damages
Liability Cap
Even if BeatVault has been advised of the possibility of damages, the total aggregate liability of BeatVault under these terms shall not exceed the total amount of subscription fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Assumption of Risk
By using BeatVault, you assume all risks associated with cryptocurrency transactions, smart contracts, and Ethereum blockchain interactions. You acknowledge that blockchain technology is experimental and may result in loss of funds.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties

11. Intellectual Property Rights
BeatVault and its interfaces, designs, and proprietary features are owned by BeatVault or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
The smart contract code is open source and made available under its respective open source license(s). You may use the smart contracts in accordance with those licenses.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of BeatVault's non-open-source components without authorization.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to BeatVault at any time for any reason, including:
- Violation of these Terms of Service
- Suspicious or fraudulent activity
- Regulatory requirements or legal demands
- Discontinuation of BeatVault services
Termination does not affect your rights to assets stored in smart contracts, which remain on the blockchain independent of BeatVault's operation.
13. Privacy and Data
BeatVault does not custody or access user private keys, wallet addresses, or transaction details. Your interaction with smart contracts occurs directly between your wallet and the Ethereum blockchain.
